The short version: SlipSafe does not collect, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything you store in the App stays on your device.

Overview

SlipSafe ("the App", "we", "our") is a receipt and warranty tracking application for iPhone. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.

1. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information.

SlipSafe does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other identifying information.

The App stores the following data exclusively on your device's local storage:

This data is never transmitted to any server, never shared with third parties, and never leaves your device.

2. Device Permissions

SlipSafe requests the following device permissions. Each permission is used only for its stated purpose and for no other reason.

Camera

Purpose: Capturing photos of physical receipts for text recognition.
Usage: The camera is accessed only when you explicitly tap the capture button on the Scan screen. Receipt images are saved to your device's local storage. Images are never uploaded, transmitted, or processed on any external server. Text recognition (OCR) runs entirely on-device using Apple's built-in Vision framework. No image data leaves your phone.

Notifications

Purpose: Sending warranty expiry reminders.
Usage: If you grant notification permission, the App schedules local notifications on your device to alert you when a warranty is about to expire (30 days before, 7 days before, and/or on the day of expiry, depending on your settings). These notifications are generated and stored entirely on your device by iOS. No notification content is sent to any external server.

Photo Library (optional)

Purpose: Selecting an existing photo of a receipt from your photo library.
Usage: The App requests read access only when you tap "Gallery" on the Scan screen. The selected image is copied to the App's private storage directory. No images are uploaded or shared.

3. Data Storage

All data is stored locally on your iPhone using SQLite, Apple's built-in database framework. Receipt images are stored in the App's private documents directory, which is sandboxed by iOS and inaccessible to other apps.

iCloud Backup: If you have enabled iCloud Backup on your device, your App data may be included in your device backup as part of Apple's standard iOS backup system. This is controlled by Apple and your device settings. We do not have access to your iCloud data.

4. Third-Party Services

RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

If you subscribe to SlipSafe Premium, your subscription is processed through Apple's App Store and managed via RevenueCat, a third-party subscription management platform.

Apple App Store: All purchases are processed by Apple. Apple's Privacy Policy governs how Apple handles your payment information: https://www.apple.com/privacy/

5. Analytics and Advertising

SlipSafe contains no analytics frameworks, no advertising SDKs, and no crash reporting services. We do not track usage patterns, session lengths, feature usage, or any behavioural data.

6. Children's Privacy

SlipSafe does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The App does not collect any personal information from any user, regardless of age.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All data stored by SlipSafe exists only on your device. You can delete all App data at any time:

We have no copies of your data and cannot retrieve it on your behalf.

8. Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal data, standard data subject rights (access, portability, erasure) are satisfied by the fact that all data is already in your exclusive control on your device.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area (EEA), California, or another jurisdiction with specific privacy laws, you are entitled to know that we do not process any personal data subject to those regulations.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
